Food distribution and clearing conveyors: flat / round belt conveyors

Our solutions meet the high demands placed on these systems for handling food in terms of compliance with the hygiene regulations and the reliability of the technology. Professional, individually configured food distribution systems from Rieber make it possible to distribute food as economically and effectively as possible and in accordance with the statutory HACCP regulations – all with the absolute best food quality.

In addition to the food distribution conveyor, an entire food distribution system also includes other mobile Rieber products such as cutlery, crockery and tray dispensers, food delivery trolleys, rack trolleys, tray trolleys, dispensers and tray systems with matching or universal crockery.

The integration of a food distribution system into the different conditions within a facility is a decisive factor for optimal use on-site.

Regardless of whether the food is to be distributed in a Cook & Serve, Cook & Chill or Cook & Freeze process, in a serving or tray system, in a central kitchen or directly at the station – Rieber offers a suitable individual solution for the different requirements. The selection of individual components is crucial for the efficient care of the catering users. The conveyors allow easy and quick loading of the trays with the different food components requested or the automated removal of dirty crockery to the kitchen. In addition, the conveyors are available in stationary or mobile versions.

Rieber high-quality food distribution and clearing conveyors made of stainless steel are available in two versions, both as a flat belt and round belt conveyor.
Flat belt conveyor

A flat belt conveyor is a white 2 mm thick 3-layer belt, 295 mm wide, food-resistant and permanently antistatic, with a dirt scraper as standard.

Round belt conveyor

Round belt conveyor operated with 4 belts for precisely optimised guidance, 2 parallel round belts (Ø 15 mm thick PUR with polyester tensile insert, in green) running at 220 mm intervals, running in V-shaped edged sliding grooves, with low noise level. Drain tray for easy cleaning available as an option.

Conveyor construction / design:

Starting at the beginning of the conveyor, trays, plates, hot bowls, food and cloches are successively placed on the belt and filled individually by the operating personnel standing at the conveyor. The desired speed of the conveyor belt is infinitely variable.

The conveyor generally comprises a belt body, belt and motor station in a grid-shaped design. The belt body has a smooth CNS housing with a body height of 150 mm. The stationary version is mounted in a stable position on supports made of 40 x 40 mm CNS square tubular material, with foot lugs adjustable to a height of +/- 30 mm.

The conveyor is divided into the following stations:

  • Drive station:
Consisting of a belt body, flat/round belt and a motor station. With a bumper on the long side and a connecting screw joint for the centre and end section. Angled on the serving side with an integrated membrane keyboard (ON, STOP, EMERGENCY STOP switch, speed control). Optionally with a belt return or foot switch for ON/OFF.
  • Centre section:
With a screw joint on the face side for the drive and end section and only functional in combination with these sections, with a supporting roller in the centre for the belt.
  • End section:
With a screw joint on the face side for the drive and centre section and only functional in combination with these sections. A large adjustable ball bearing guide roller for the belt is installed in the housing.
Motor station with easy access to the control and fuse box with a main switch on a removable panel, integrated three-phase motor for infinitely variable belt speed and belt clamping station, as well as an easy to clean dirt drawer. The three-phase motor is infinitely variable from 2.5 – 10.5 m/min.
  • Additional belt for the food distribution conveyor:
Drive is powered via the coupling on the motor station of the main belt, from there it can be controlled and regulated (so there is no separate motor station).
  • Cross belt conveyor:
Consisting of a drive station with a 90° corner belt

On each side of the belt there are sockets for connecting the mobile electrical appliances such as delivery trolleys, platform trolleys, etc. At the end of the belt, the fully loaded trays are inserted into the ready-to-use transport trolleys and taken to the desired location.

System products for your food distribution conveyor

In addition to the food distribution conveyor, an entire food distribution system also includes other mobile Rieber products such as cutlery, crockery and tray dispensers, food delivery trolleys, rack trolleys, tray trolleys, dispensers and tray systems with matching or universal crockery.

Special features - application and use

The length of the distribution conveyor is generally determined by the tray system used, the number of food users and the different menu components. The various tray systems, such as the Rieber Combitray or Thermotray, can be loaded quickly and easily onto the conveyor. These consist of insulated systemware, hot components and special heating agents to ensure the required food temperatures in accordance with the HACCP requirements.

  • The Combitray system consists of different product models and a combination of insulated and non-insulated crockery items made of plastic, stainless steel and chinaware, with an integrated aluminium core or Ultra heating element depending on the version.
  • The Thermotray tray system consists of an insulated tray top and bottom, into which the crockery items filled with food are safely inserted.

The belt length can be 3 to 12 m depending on the customer's requirements. In special cases, belt lengths of up to 16 m are also possible, especially in cases where the food distribution conveyors have to be routed around corners due to the structural conditions. Even with the clearing conveyors, longer belts are possible due to the spatial distance between the tray requirements in the guest area and the kitchen.
