As hospital logistics grow in size and complexity, a professional transport solution is required. Rieber's versatile AGV system offers a high-quality, high-performance solution for the automated transport of a wide variety of goods and materials within a hospital. This simplifies processes and increases efficiency. With high transport capacity and intelligent organization, multiple daily transports are possible without a hitch, even with large numbers of containers.

AGV Container

Rieber offers customized AGV container solutions for the diverse goods flows that arise daily to ensure complete ward and hospital supplies. The hygienically manufactured containers made of high-quality stainless steel can be used specifically in different hospital departments, and the entire supply and disposal logistics are handled via a uniform container system.

  • From the food and beverage container
  • the laundry container
  • the pharmacy/medicine container
  • the special sterile goods container also in custom-made design with transfer frame, kangaroo system, suitable for existing on-site facilities
  • the general freight container
  • up to the garbage container

Depending on the type of container transport, different types of horizontal and vertical conveyor systems are possible, both for automated systems (AWT) and flexible transport systems (FTS) .

  • In the AWT area, the overhead conveyor system can be configured for horizontal and vertical container transport. The containers are held on top of the roof at both ends using special support brackets, which also serve as push handles for manual operation.
  • The flexible floor conveyor systems (FTS) are available in lifting or towing versions , vertical transport via a lift system/elevator or via traction conveyors such as tractors or trolleys with coupling and drawbar.

Rieber can manufacture a container system perfectly tailored to these diverse requirements. Its high-quality construction ensures it can withstand rugged, continuous operation while also integrating seamlessly with the hospital's automated transport systems.

Each container type is perfectly tailored to the specific cargo being transported, whether for food trays, laundry, goods, or garbage containers. This generally distinguishes single-walled and double-walled trolley designs. Single-walled container designs are particularly characterized by their low weight, making them easy to maneuver. Double-walled containers, on the other hand, are more stable and have a higher load-bearing capacity, making them heavier and more versatile, depending on requirements.

The basic equipment

All Rieber trolleys are characterized by their hygienic, fully welded construction and offer maximum dimensional stability. To distinguish the various trolley variants, the chassis is provided with a surrounding, colored bumper, corresponding to the container's intended use.

  • The interior and exterior surfaces of the containers are completely seamless and jointless.
  • All connections are welded to ensure they are absolutely leak-tight, and the welds are made outside the stressed areas of the vehicle in order to optimally counteract mechanical and thermal stress.
  • The cavities are soundproof, vapor-tight and well insulated.
  • The two separate doors on the long side of the trolley can be easily opened thanks to the secure two-point locking system. The doors are double-walled, maintenance-free, and easily replaceable.
  • The pivoting angle is 270° - the doors can be locked in the closed, fully open, or in the washing position of approximately 230°. The attached catches enable the doors to open and close automatically.
  • The trolleys withstand all requirements of automatic wet cleaning, leaving no residue from puddles of water, temperatures of +95 °C without any loss of strength, color fidelity and dimensional accuracy, and for short periods even temperature loads of up to +115 °C.

Special features, application & use
  • Goods container:
Here a central wall is inserted, which allows support rails to be installed in one half of the container to accommodate shelf grids.
  • Food container:
Two separate compartments allow for easy and secure storage of food trays. Thanks to the specially shaped tray guides, the food trays remain securely in place even during transport on the conveyor system.
  • Laundry containers:
These have a special tubular frame construction inside to accommodate two racks. The racks serve as intermediate shelves with two pivoting shelves, which can be used both vertically as lateral protection against falling out and horizontally as intermediate shelves.
  • Garbage containers:
These are identical in design to the dirty laundry containers, open at the top and with two half-height doors. The containers can be emptied overhead using a suitable lifting frame with a corresponding tipping mechanism and a towing system.
  • Sterile goods container with transfer frame (kangaroo system):
Medical devices and medicines are transported in open and closed standard containers (STE standard) 300 grid in wire mesh boxes or plastic containers.
