Rieber takes responsibility for our environment and converts all mobile products to the natural refrigerant propane R290.Several million tonnes of environmentally harmful CO2 emissions of synthetic refrigerants are released into the environment every year.

By 2030, the complete phase-out of synthetic refrigerants and a switch to natural refrigerants should be almost complete.

  • Natural refrigerants such as propane, ammonia, propene and butane, avoid these immense emissions and are also highly efficient to use
  • Within the legislation, the use of natural refrigerants is regulated by the F-Gases Regulation (EU) No. 517/2014
  • WE ARE THINKING TODAY ABOUT THE FUTURE FOR OUR CUSTOMERS: R134a will be banned from 01/2022
  • that is why we are using propane R290, a refrigerant that is fit for the future.

With the conversion of our stainless steel thermoport® models since April 2021, we have committed to this environmentally friendly strategy at an early stage.

  • Because propane is very efficient and, with the right refrigeration technology, also very safe, coupled with the advantage that it is environmentally friendly
  • We started converting our mobile stainless steel thermoporte® as standard in April 2021 and are now continuously expanding the portfolio with propane R290

THE ADVANTAGES OF PROPANE R290 AS A NATURAL REFRIGERANT

  • Future-proof, available and affordable refrigerant
  • R134a will be banned from 01/2022, so we are already thinking about tomorrow today - for our customers
  • Cost-effective in service and operating costs
  • Low GWP (3), no ODP (0)
  • not affected by the F-Gas regulation
  • Low final compression temperatures
  • Small filling quantity necessary due to good density/evaporation heat ratio
  • Good material compatibility & pressure position
  • no ozone damage or water hazard
  • very large operating range (from -40 to +45 °C) with very good efficiency

Optimised operating behaviour & energy savings of 10 to 30 percent have been achieved in all areas of application
