With the new self-sufficient urbanfarm grow rack, Rieber presents a pioneering solution for the professional cultivation of microgreens directly at the point of preparation. The system enables controlled and hygienic cultivation of microgreens and herbs – completely independent of external water or air connections. This elevates freshness, quality and sustainability in food production to a new level.

The self-sufficient urbanfarm grow rack is made of high-quality stainless steel and specifically designed for professional use. Its compact design provides four levels, each accommodating five perforated GN 1/2 containers serving as growing trays. This allows up to 20 containers to be cultivated simultaneously – achieving an impressive yield of around 28 kg of microgreens per week or approximately 1,460 kg per year.

A fully integrated irrigation, water and air filtration system continuously supplies the plants with clean water and filtered air. Automatic temperature regulation and precision LED lighting ensure optimal germination and growth conditions at every stage. The closed system maintains a hygienic, germ-free environment where all parameters are constantly monitored. The result: vigorous, aromatic microgreens of consistently high quality – independent of climate, season or location.

For maximum food safety, the urbanfarm grow rack is compatible with the digital CHECK HACCP system. In combination with CHECK HACCP, temperature and humidity are automatically monitored directly within the unit. All data is documented, creating a seamless digital hygiene record. Deviations from defined tolerance values are detected at an early stage, and hygiene as well as cleaning checklists can be centrally managed within the system – ensuring maximum safety and transparency in daily operations.

The grow rack also convinces in everyday handling. Its space-efficient stainless steel construction, hygienically flawless surfaces and easily removable GN containers simplify cleaning and maintenance. All materials are food-safe, odor-neutral and antibacterial – ideal for continuous use in professional environments.
